Oil Consumption in US
As of today, the US consumes 20 million barrels of oil per day. This take a huge toll on our economy, as we’re importing a staggering amount of that oil at a premium price from other countries. Moving to an alternative energy system would help the economy more than any kind of stimulus package could ever hope to, because we’d be able to keep the cash flow domestically.
What are Bio Fuels?
Bio fuels, simply put, is fuel derived from some organic source, such as corn, or suger cane, or vegetable oil, and and use that as fuel instead of traditional fossil fuels. This really is the quickest, and easiest way to remove our dependence from oil.
Fuel Cell cars
As of 2009, there are no mass produced fuel cell cars in the market. The technology is there, and GM has promised the chevy Volt, which will run partly on fuel cells, and there is the Honda FCX with a similar design . But as of right now, no other car company plans to produce a straight fuel cell car. This is unacceptible, as the technology is there, and the demand is so high for more enviormentally friendly cars that you’d have to be a fool not to produce them. When will the big excutives listen to the consumers?
